Sage Construction Management Data Setup Suggestions

You can set up Sage Construction Management to define how data is synced between the two systems.

Profile Settings in Sage Construction Management

You can configure the required profile settings such as the country for the Ship To Address and the Bill To Address and the Accounting System that is used.

Select Settings | Company Settings | Profile. In the Ship To Address and Bill To Address Country fields, enter the country, e.g., Canada.

Select the Accounting System from the dropdown in the External Applications Being Used section.

Global Settings in Sage Construction Management

You can configure the Default Currency to be used in Sage Construction Management.

Select Settings | Company Settings | Global Settings | Default Currency and select Canadian Dollar (CAD) from the dropdown.

Locking Transactions in Sage Construction Management After Export

To avoid discrepancies between the two systems, Sage Construction Management transactions can be locked automatically after they have been exported to Sage 50 Canada.

Select | Settings | Company Settings | Global Settings | Transaction Locking | Lock Exported Transactions: Auto-lock exported transactions.

Export Rules For Bills Using Bill Types

Adding Bill Types in Sage Construction Management: To add bill types in Sage Construction Management, select Settings | Feature Settings | Procurement | Bill Types, and click Add.

You can set export rules within the AccountingLink. Select Accounting Link | Sync Preferences.

Tax Codes

You can add manually or import sales tax codes in Sage Construction Management from Sage 50 Canada. Rates for each code must be the same otherwise there will be a discrepancy in the total when exporting transactions from Sage Construction Management to Sage 50 Canada.

To add tax codes in Sage Construction Management, select Settings | Company Settings | Taxation.

You can link tax codes within the AccountingLink. Select Accounting Link | Sync Preferences.

Sage Construction Management Project Cost Codes

Sage Construction Management Project Cost Codes or Internal Division Codes should match Service Items in Sage 50 Canada.

For example, the cost codes included in Sage 50 Canada shown below should match the cost codes set in the AccountingLink in Sage Construction Management.
