Import CSI or NAHB codes into Sage 50 Canada service items list
Below are spreadsheets that can be used to import service items into Sage 50 Canada. For commercial contractors, either CSI 95 or 2016 format is recommended and for residential contractors NAHB.
Importing service items is optional. This is typically used when setting up a blank Sage 50 Canada database or when switching to an industry-standard coding structure.
- Download one of the following text files (*.txt) files:

Open the file in a text editor, such as Windows Notepad.

Perform a global search and replace to update the expense and income general ledger (GL) Chart of Account references.
For example, 4020 and 5020. The GL accounts must already exist in Sage 50 Canada before importing the file.

Save the text file and close it.
- Select File > Import/Export > Import Records.
- In the Import Records wizard, select Sage 50 import format.
- Select Next.
- Select Back Up to create a backup for the company before importing the file.

After the backup completes successfully, select Next.

Select Browse and locate the text file you want to import into Sage 50 Canada.
- Select Next.
Sage 50 Canada displays a log of all inventory and service items that were added, as well as the reasons any items were not added.
- Select Finish.
