Installing AccountingLink Utility on Remote Desktop
Below are special instructions to install a AccountingLink utility on a virtual machine/desktop.
System Requirements
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012 R2 or later
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or higher
- Screen Resolution:
- 1024 x 768
- Font Size: 100%
- Internet Ports Open: 80 (http://) and 443 (https://)
Installing the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8
The steps listed below are not needed if a higher version (i.e. 4.8) of the Microsoft .NET Framework is already installed.
- Click Start | Windows Update or Open Internet Explorer and click Tools | Window Update
- Click Custom Install: High Priority and Optional Updates for Your Computer
- If Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or Service Packs are listed then download/install them.

Step 1: Instructions for Hosting Provider's IT Manager:
- Log in to contractor's virtual machine/desktop using Citrix or Windows Terminal Services
- Open Internet Explorer or Firefox
- Download/Install AccountingLink Utility:
- Follow installation instructions.
- Paste AccountingLink icon on desktop for contractor's accounting staff. See Start | Programs | Sage Construction Management | AccountingLink for QuickBooks/Sage 50 Canada.
Note: AccountingLink utilities uses port 80 and 443 when connecting to the Sage Construction Management database.
Step 2: Instructions for Contractor
- Log in to contractor's virtual machine/desktop using Citrix or Windows Terminal Services
- Open Accounting Application and Company Database
- Open AccountingLink utility (see step 5 above - desktop icon)
- Enter Sage Construction Management Login information
- Click Help | View Help within the AccountingLink application
- Review Help Topics on AccountingLink Setup
- Establish connection between Sage Construction Management and Accounting database
