Lock or unlock a user account

A user's account can be locked in two ways:

  • The account can be manually locked by an administrator.

  • The account can be automatically locked if the user enters an incorrect password five times.

If the account is locked by an administrator, only an administrator can unlock it.

If it’s locked because of failed login attempts, the user can unlock it by resetting their password. An administrator also has the option to unlock the account in this case.
