e-Sign integration with DocuSign overview
About e-Sign
- Ensure at least one DocuSign account is set up before using the e-Sign feature. Multiple users can also log in to their own DocuSign accounts.
- E-Sign is applicable to estimate proposals and linked files listed in the Contract Admin and Procurement features.
The subscription type for the eSignature Standard Edition is recommended. You can configure Sage Construction Management to either use a shared DocuSign seat across all accounts or enable individual DocuSign logins, allowing each licensed user to connect with their own DocuSign account.
-
The e-sign process supports two types of recipients: Signers, who are required to sign the document, and Carbon Copy recipients, who can view, download, or print the document but cannot take any action.
-
The e-sign process can be either Parallel, where the document is sent to all recipients for signature at the same time, or Sequential, where it is sent to recipients in a specific signing order.
- You can track the e-Sign progress with color codes:
- Yellow: The document signing process is in progress.
- Green: The document signing process is complete.
- Red: An error has occurred in the signing process.
-
A record is automatically locked if one of the following conditions is met:
-
The document is successfully signed by all recipients.
-
At least one of the recipients declined to sign the document.
-
The sender canceled the e-Sign process.
In the lock status section of the record, the Locked By field is set to AutoLockOnSign.
If the e-Sign process for a record is already in progress, unlocking the record or changing its status to Pending does not interrupt the process. Furthermore, if the record is marked as Approved again, it will not be automatically locked unless the e-Sign process is restarted. -
-
After the e-Sign process is completed and the document is signed, it's stored on DocuSign's servers. In Sage Construction Management, a link to the file is available in the Linked Files section.
-
Special bookmarks have been added to the estimate proposal, contract admin, and procurement detail report templates to accommodate for signature tags.
