Add Activities to Daily Log
Progress activities entered in Daily Logs tend to be more general in nature as opposed to scheduling task updates. When entering activities, there are options to categorize by Type (eg. concrete, electrical, plumbing) and Location (eg. lobby, 2nd floor, room 301). Type options are organizational wide and can be established by Admins in Settings | Feature Settings | Documentation | Daily Log Activity Types. Locations are project specific and manually entered.
Unit Price Contracts Note:
Heavy highway and site contractors that have Unit Price contracts should import Unit Price Items into the Activities table since the daily quantities can be summarized for a given date range when creating Prime Contract Invoices.
Fixed Lump Sum Contracts Note:
Contractors that have Fixed Lump Sum contracts can import their Schedule of Values into the Activities table. However, unlike Unit Price contracts the daily quantities can not be copied to a Prime Contract Invoice since it accepts only a currency amount or percent complete for the billing period.
Adding Activities
- Navigate to the Activities section on the Daily Log Details page.
- Click the Add / Import Items drop-down on the far right.
- Select one of the options below.
- Option A - Add Manually
- Option B - Import Multiple Activity Types
- Option C - Import Scheduling Activities
- Please see steps below based on the option chosen.
Option A - Add Manually
- Optional: Select the Activity Type. Options shown in the drop-down can be added by Admins in Settings | Feature Settings | Documentation | Daily Log Activity Types.
- Optional: Enter a location
- Enter the Activity
- Enter a Quantity or leave the default value (0) since this is a required field.
- Optional: If Quantity is not zero then Units should be entered.
- Click the Add and New or Add and Close button below the grid.
Option B - Import Multiple Activity Types
All Activity Types established in Settings will be listed in a grid allowing an Activity Description to be entered for each.
- Navigate to the appropriate Activity Type shown in the grid.
- Enter the Activity Description. This will automatically update the checkbox on the left.
- Optional: Enter a Location
- Enter a Quantity or leave the default value (0) since this is a required field.
- Optional: If Quantity is not zero then Units should be entered.
- Click the Add or Add and Close button below the grid.
Option C - Import Scheduling Activities
- Select the Schedule in the Filter Information section.
- Optional: Sorting can be changed by clicking on one of the columns.
- Optional: Use the Search field shown above the grid as an additional filter.
- Select one or more tasks.
- Click the Add or Add and Close button below the grid.
