Add activities to a daily log
Progress activities recorded in daily logs tend to be more general than scheduling task updates. You can categorize these activities by type (concrete, electrical, or plumbing) or by location (lobby, 2nd floor, or room 301).
Type options are organization-wide and administrators can configure them in Settings (
) > Feature Settings > Documentation
> Daily Log Activity Type. Locations are project-specific and must be entered manually.

Unit Price contracts: Heavy highway and site contractors working under Unit Price contracts must import Unit Price items into the Activities table. This is essential because daily quantities can be summarized over a specified date range when generating prime contract invoices.

Fixed Lump Sum contracts: Contractors working under Fixed Lump Sum contracts can import their Schedule of Values into the Activities table. However, unlike Unit Price contracts, daily quantities cannot be copied to a prime contract invoice. This is because Fixed Lump Sum billing only supports currency amounts or percentage completion for the billing period.
Open the daily log details
- Go to Projects and select the appropriate project in the Quick Select section.
- On the Project Home page, select Daily Logs in the Documentation section.
- On the Daily Logs page, select the appropriate date from the list.
Add activities manually
- In the Activities section, select Add / Import Items > Add Manually.
- Optionally, select the Activity Type.
The dropdown is populated based on the types added in Settings (
) > Feature Settings > Documentation
> Daily Log Activity Type. - Optionally, enter a Location.
- Enter the Activity information.
- Enter a Quantity and specify the Units.
The quantity is required and the default value is set to zero.
- Select Add & Close.
Import activities

In the Activities section, select Add / Import Items.

Select one of the following options:
Import prime contract Schedule of Values itemsThis option is available for Fixed Lump Sum contracts.
- Select Import Prime Contract Schedule of Values.

Optionally, use the Search field to filter the list.

Select one or more items from the list.

Select Add & Close.
Import prime contract Unit Price itemsThis option is available for Unit Price contracts.
- Select Import Prime Contract Unit Prices.

Optionally, use the Search field to filter the list.

Select one or more items from the list.

Optionally, update the Daily Quantity for each selected item as needed.

Select Add & Close.
Import approved change order (CO) items- Select Import Approved CO Items.

In the Filter Information section, select the Change Order from the dropdown.

In the CO Items section, select one or more items from the list.

Select Add & Close.
Import job cost codes- Select Import Job Cost Code.

Optionally, use the Search field to filter the list.

Select one or more codes from the list.

Optionally, update the Daily Log Qty for each selected item.

Select Add & Close.
Import multiple activity types-
Select Import Multiple Activity Types.

Optionally, use the Search field to filter the list.
- For each appropriate Activity Type, do the following:
- Enter the Activity Description.
The activity will then be automatically selected.
This field is required.
- Optionally, enter a Location.
- Enter a Quantity and specify the Units.
This quantity is required. The default value is set to zero.
The list includes all the activity types specified in Settings.
- Enter the Activity Description.
- Select Add & Close.
Import scheduling activities-
Select Import Scheduling Activities.
- In the Filter Information section, select the Schedule from the dropdown.
- In the Tasks section, select one or more tasks from the list.
- Optionally, use the Search field to filter the list.
- Optionally, sort the tasks by selecting any of the column headers.
- Select Add & Close.
