Add activities to a daily log

Progress activities recorded in daily logs tend to be more general than scheduling task updates. You can categorize these activities by type (concrete, electrical, or plumbing) or by location (lobby, 2nd floor, or room 301).

Type options are organization-wide and administrators can configure them in Settings () > Feature Settings > Documentation > Daily Log Activity Type. Locations are project-specific and must be entered manually.

  • Unit Price contracts: Heavy highway and site contractors working under Unit Price contracts must import Unit Price items into the Activities table. This is essential because daily quantities can be summarized over a specified date range when generating prime contract invoices.

  • Fixed Lump Sum contracts: Contractors working under Fixed Lump Sum contracts can import their Schedule of Values into the Activities table. However, unlike Unit Price contracts, daily quantities cannot be copied to a prime contract invoice. This is because Fixed Lump Sum billing only supports currency amounts or percentage completion for the billing period.
