Add activities to the daily log
Progress activities recorded in daily logs tend to be more general than scheduling task updates. You can categorize these activities either by type, such as concrete, electrical, or plumbing, and location, such as lobby, 2nd floor, or room 301.
Type options are organization-wide and administrators can configure them in Settings > Feature Settings > Documentation > Daily Log Activity Type. Locations are project-specific and must be entered manually.

Unit Price contracts: Heavy highway and site contractors working under Unit Price contracts must import Unit Price Items into the Activities table. This is essential because daily quantities can be summarized over a specified date range when generating Prime Contract Invoices.

Fixed Lump Sum contracts: Contractors working under Fixed Lump Sum contracts can import their Schedule of Values into the Activities table. However, unlike Unit Price contracts, daily quantities cannot be copied to a Prime Contract Invoice. This is because Fixed Lump Sum billing only supports currency amounts or percentage completion for the billing period.
Add activities
- Go to Projects and select the appropriate project in the Quick Select section.
- On the Project Home page, select Daily Logs under the Documentation section.
- On the Daily Logs page, select the appropriate entry from the list.
- In the Activities section, select Add / Import Items.
- Select one of the following options:
- Add Manually
- Import Prime Contract Schedule of Values
- Import Approved CO Items
- Import Job Cost Code
- Import Multiple Activity Types
- Import Scheduling Activities
Add activities manually
- Optionally, select the Activity Type.
The dropdown is populated based on the types that administrators add in Settings > Feature Settings > Documentation > Daily Log Activity Type.
- Optionally, enter a Location.
- Enter the Activity information.
- Enter a Quantity.
This field is required. The default value is zero.
- If the quantity is not set to zero, specify the Units.
- Select Add & New or Add & Close.
Import prime contract Schedule of Values

In the Schedule of Values section, select one or more items from the list.

Optionally, use the Search field to filter the list.

Select Add or Add & Close.
Import approved CO items

Optionally, select the Change Order.

In the CO Items section, select one or more items from the list.

Select Add or Add & Close.
Import job cost codes

In the Job Cost Codes section, select one or more items from the list.

Optionally, use the Search field to filter the list.

Select Add or Add & Close.
Import multiple activity types
- In the Activity Types section, for each appropriate Activity Type do the following:
- Enter the Activity Description.
The activity will then be automatically selected.
- Optionally, enter a Location.
- Enter a Quantity.
This field is required. The default value is zero.
- If the quantity is not set to zero, specify the Units.
The list includes all the activity types specified in Settings.
- Enter the Activity Description.
- Select Add or Add & Close.
Import scheduling activities
- In the Filter Information section, select the Schedule.
- In the Tasks section, select one or more tasks from the list.
- Optionally, sort the tasks by selecting any of the column headers.
- Optionally, use the Search field to filter the list.
- Select Add or Add & Close.
