Special variables

The following special variables can be used in formulas:

  • WAQty: Work assembly quantity

WAQty can be useful for kit-type assemblies. For example, if an assembly requires a quantity of 2 of component A, then that component's equation will be WAQty * 2.

Do not add variables in the Variables for Assembly and Component Equations section for work assemblies that use the WAQty variable. Particularly, for kit-type assemblies, there cannot be any other variables in the work assembly.

For work assemblies using only the WAQty variable, the Quantity in estimates is populated based on the quantity entered when adding the item to the estimate from the cost database.

  • EstQty: Estimate header quantity
