Document viewer supported file formats

Document Viewer is optimized for handling large, complex drawings with high-speed rendering. It offers a suite of annotation tools with collaboration and revision tracking features tailored for construction and engineering workflows.

Document Viewer supports the following file formats:

  • PDF formats, such as PDF, FDF, XFDF, PDF/A-1, A-2, A-3, and PDF 1.0 to 2.0 (ISO 32000-1:2008, 32000-2:2017),

  • Office formats, such as DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, and PUB,

  • CAD formats, such as DWG, DXF, DGN, RVT, and DWF.

Document Viewer uses drawing layers and drawing block coordinates with Sage AI for metadata extraction, e.g., Drawing #, Release Date, etc., to automatically identify drawing revisions, produce rich annotations, custom stamps, and overlays for drawing comparisons, and import previous annotations.

Document Viewer additionally supports the following file formats:

  • Open document formats, such as RTF, ODT, ODS, ODP, and WPF,

  • Image formats, such as BMP, WMF, EMF, GIF, HDP, JPG, JP2, JPC, PNG, TIF, TIFF,

  • Web and email, such as HTML, HTM, MHT, SVG, and MSG,

  • Text and XML, such as TXT, XPS, OXPS, XML, XOD, and XAML.
