Import drawing logs from Microsoft Excel
You can create and import a Microsoft Excel file with a list of project documents, but not the actual drawing files. After importing the Microsoft Excel file, you can upload the drawing files in the drawing log records.
Prepare the Microsoft Excel file
- Open a blank Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or download the sample file.
- Label the first row, which specifies the column names, as shown in the table below.
Make sure that all the required fields are included. Field names do not contain any spacing within the word, or before and after.
Make sure that the sheet is labeled as Sheet1.
- Start entering data from the second row.
If you upload a revision to a drawing, make sure that the drawing number in the file is an exact match of the existing drawing number. The drawing is automatically added as a revision if the number matches the original.
- Save the file in Excel 97-2003 format (*.xls).
- Close the file to enable Sage Construction Management to import the data.
Import the file
- Go to Leads or Projects and select the lead or project in the Quick Select section.
- On the Lead or Project Home page, select Drawings under the Project Library section.
- Select Actions > Import From Excel.
- Select Choose File and find the file to be imported on your local drive.
The data will be imported automatically.
