Import schedule tasks from a Microsoft Excel file
Prepare a Microsoft Excel file for import
- Open a blank Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or download the sample file.
- The first row specifies the column names and must be labeled as shown in the table below.
Make sure that all the required fields are included. Field names do not contain any spacing within the word, or before and after.
Make sure that the sheet is labeled as Sheet1.
- Start entering data from the second row.
- Save the file in Excel 97-2003 format (*.xls).
- Close the file to enable Sage Construction Management to import the data.
Create a schedule and import the file
- Go to Projects and select the appropriate project in the Quick Select section.
- On the Project Home page, select Scheduling Overview or Schedules in the Scheduling section.
- In the Schedules (Gantt Chart) section, select Actions > Add Schedule.
- Optionally, update the Project number as needed.
- Optionally, specify the Prime Contract number.
For design-build firms, developers, and homebuilders, this field is recommended if there are going to be multiple lots or contracts.
- Enter the Schedule #, such as 001, and Schedule Title.
- Select the work Calendar which will determine the work days and holidays.Admins can specify the calendars in Settings > Feature Settings > Scheduling.
- Optionally, enter any Comments.
- Select Import From Excel in the Task Creation field.
- Select Choose File and find the appropriate file.
Make sure that the file is saved and closed before uploading it.
- Select Save & View.
