Add a subcontract, purchase order (PO), or subcontract change order (SCO) from a change proposal request (CPR)

About the Change Proposal Request to Procurement wizard

  • A CPR does not need to be converted to a prime contract change order (CO) before adding impacted company items to a PO, SCO, or subcontract. However, it's recommended to convert a CPR to a CO before using the Change Proposal Request to Procurement wizard.

  • Only items imported into the CPR Proposed Items section using the Actions > Import Impacted Company Items option will be available in the wizard. Manually added, copied, or duplicated items will not appear.

  • The CPR must be in Approved status to display in the wizard.

Create a subcontract, PO, or SCO from a CPR

  1. Go to Projects and select the appropriate project in the Quick Select section.

  2. On the Project Home page, select PO, Subcontract, or SCO in the Procurement section.
  3. Select Actions > Add From CPR.
  4. Optionally, update the Project or Prime Contract number.
  5. Select the Supplier / Subcontractor Company.
Only vendors referenced in an approved CPR, with their items imported into the CPR’s proposed items list, will appear in the dropdown.
  6. Select the type of transaction to create: PO, Subcontract, or SCO.

The SCO option is only available if a subcontract has already been issued to the vendor.

  7. Select the CPRs to be included in the PO, subcontract, or SCO from the list.
If no CPRs are listed, then the vendor's items have already been copied to a procurement transaction.
  8. Select Next.
  9. Optionally, update the PO #, Subcontract #, or SCO #.

By default, Sage Construction Management automatically assigns the next available PO, subcontract, or SCO number.

  10. Optionally, update the Issue Date as needed.

The default value is today's date.

  11. Enter a Subject.
  12. Optionally, select the Supplier or Subcontractor Contact.
  13. Optionally, if you’re creating a subcontract, select the Subcontract Type.
  14. Optionally, update the Status.

The default value is Pending, but you can change it later, unless a transaction workflow is in place.

  15. Optionally, update the Status Date.
  16. Optionally, select Link Related Files to link the CPR related files to the new transaction.
  17. Select Finish.
