Calculate projections using the Field % Complete

Use the Field % Complete to record the estimated percentage of project completion based on observations from your field workforce. This percentage is used to calculate projected labor and equipment costs for the remaining work on the project.

The following formulas are used to calculate projected labor and equipment costs:

  • Projected labor hours = approved labor timecard hours / Field % Complete value

  • Total projected labor cost = (total approved labor timecard cost / approved labor timecard hours) * projected labor hours

  • Projected equipment hours = equipment timecard hours / Field % Complete value

  • Total projected equipment hours = (total equipment timecard cost / equipment timecard hours) * projected equipment hours

Enter the estimated completion percentage

  1. Go to Projects and select the appropriate project in the Quick Select section.

  2. On the Project Home page, select Project Financial Analytics in the General info section.

  3. In the Selected Projects(s) / Prime Contract(s) section, do the following:

    1. Ensure that the Single Project & Prime option is selected.

    2. Optionally, update the Project number as needed.

    3. Select the Prime Contract #.

    4. Select Review Estimated Field Percent Complete Details.

  4. In the Estimated Field Percent Complete Details page, enter the percentage for each cost code under the Field % Complete column as needed.

  5. Select Save & Close.

In the Analytics module, the estimated completion percentage you enter updates the projected labor and equipment costs in the following dashboards and reports:

  • Cost tab:

    • Projected Cost At Completion Overview dashboard

    • Projected Cost At Completion Overview report

    • Project Cost At Completion Overview Without Tax report

  • Labor tab:

    • Labor Hours Overview dashboard

    • Labor Production Overview For Single Job Cost Code dashboard

    • Labor Productivity Using Daily Log Quantities report

    • Projected Labor Hour Overview report

  • Equipment tab:

    • Equipment Hours Overview dashboard

    • Projected Equipment Hour Overview report
