Calculate projections using Field % Complete

Use the Field % Complete field to enter a project's estimated completion percentage as observed by your workforce in the field. The percentage is then used to calculate your projected labor and equipment costs for the remainder of your project.

The Review Field % Complete link is available on the project analytics page after you select the Single Project & Prime option and then select a project.

Formulas used

The following formulas are used to calculate projected labor and equipment costs.

• Projected labor hours = approved labor timecard hours / Field % Complete value

• Total projected labor cost = (total approved labor timecard cost / approved labor timecard hours) * projected labor hours

• Projected equipment hours = equipment timecard hours / Field % Complete value

• Total projected equipment hours = (total equipment timecard cost / equipment timecard hours) * projected equipment hours

Enter the estimated completion percentage

1. In the Projects module, on the Projects menu, select Project Analytics.

2. Select the Single Project & Prime option.

3. Select a Project and the Prime Contract #.

4. Select Review Field % Complete. The Estimated Percent Complete Details page opens.

5. In the Field % Complete column, enter the percentage for each cost code as needed.

6. Click Save & Close.

The projected labor and equipment costs on the dashboards and reports are now calculated using the field completion percentage that you entered.

Affected analytics

In the Analytics module, the following dashboard and analytic reports are updated when you change a project's estimated completion percentage.

  • Projected Cost At Completion Overview dashboard

  • Projected Cost At Completion Overview report

  • Project Cost At Completion Overview Without Tax report

• Labor tab:

  • Labor Hours Overview dashboard

  • Labor Production Overview For Single Job Cost Code dashboard

  • Labor Productivity Using Daily Log Quantities report

  • Projected Labor Hour Overview report
