Reuse a bookmark within a document
To reuse the same bookmark value multiple times, you can append a number to the original bookmark name as described below.
-
Place the original bookmark where you want in the document.
-
Place the cursor where you want to reuse the bookmark.
-
Select Insert > Bookmarks in the Microsoft Word ribbon.
-
In the dialog, enter the original bookmark name followed by a number in the Bookmark name field and select Add.
For example, if the original bookmark name is CompanyName, you can create additional references such as CompanyName2, CompanyName3, and so on. If the original bookmark name already ends with a number, such as Address1, append the repeat number after the existing number. For example, Address12, Address13, and so on.
There's no limit on the number of times that bookmarks can be repeated. Each numbered version will behave like the original bookmark, enabling you to insert the same information in multiple places throughout the document.
