Cost types are no longer mapped when Never use Categories is enabled in Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate

When Never use Categories is enabled in Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, cost types are no longer mapped or referenced on transactions posted from Sage Construction Management.

Details

Posting behavior for the AccountingLink with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate has been updated to fully match the Never use Categories setting configured in Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.

When Never use Categories is enabled, Sage Construction Management does not map cost types during and does not reference cost types on transactions sent to Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.

This ensures posted data aligns with customer configurations that do not use categories or cost types in Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate and avoids unnecessary or invalid references.

The updated logic is applied consistently across multiple posting scenarios, including job cost, purchasing, subcontract, change order, billing, and invoice-related transactions.

How it works

If Never use Categories is enabled in Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Sage Construction Management automatically omits cost type mapping and references when posting transactions.

No additional setup or changes are required in Sage Construction Management.
