Import, export, and sync scenarios for customers and vendors
Syncing, which updates address and phone information, applies only to companies that already exist in both systems and for which AccountingLink has matching ID values. The sections below outline applicable customer and vendor scenarios.

The user manually links Company A in Sage Construction Management to Company A in QuickBooks. The company appears in the Sync wizard if either record has been modified since the last sync.

Companies are automatically linked across both systems when their names match exactly. The company appears in the Sync Wizard if either record has been modified since the last sync.

The companies have never been linked, so Company A will not appear in the Sync wizard.

The companies are not initially linked. When the user exports the first transaction for Company A from Sage Construction Management to QuickBooks, AccountingLink attempts to find a matching company in QuickBooks and links the records. After the companies are linked, Company A will appear in the Sync wizard if changes are made in either system following a sync.

The user manually links Company A in Sage Construction Management to Company B in QuickBooks. The company will appear in the Sync wizard if either record has been modified since the last sync.

When the user runs the Sync wizard, one step allows the company to be exported to QuickBooks. This option is available only if an approved transaction, such as a bill, sub invoice, or prime invoice, references the company. After the company is exported, the records in both systems are linked. The company will then appear in the Sync wizard if either record is modified after a sync is run.
