Add Major Equipment to Daily Log

Typically, major equipment such as a bobcat or crane is documented on a daily basis. The company reference would be the firm who owns or rented it.


Adding Major Equipment

  1. Navigate to the Major Equipment (All Trades - Owned or Rented) section on the Daily Log Details form.
  2. Click the Add / Import Items drop-down on the far right.
  3. Select one of the options below.
    • Option A - Add Manually
    • Option B - Import Firms and Equipment Referenced Last 2 Weeks
    • Option C - Import Equipment Timecards for Day and Prime
    • Option D - Import Equipment Items from Cost Database
  4. Please see steps below based on the option chosen.

Option A - Add Manually

  1. Select the Company from the drop-down. Typically, this is either your firm or a subcontractor.
  2. Enter the Major Equipment Description (ex. Bobcat, Backhoe, Dump Truck).
  3. Enter the Equipment Quantity.
  4. Enter the Average Run Time (RT) Hours per Equipment. This will auto calculate Total RT Hours (= Quantity x Average RT Hours).
  5. Click the Add and New or Add and Close button below the grid.

Option B - Import Firms and Equipment Referenced Last 2 Weeks

  1. Optional: Use the Search field to filter the Company | Equipment listing.
  2. Select the Company | Equipment record by clicking the checkbox on the left.
  3. Enter the Equipment Quantity.
  4. Enter the Average Run Time (RT) Hours per piece of equipment. (Total RT Hours = Quantity x Average RT Hours)
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for additional Company | Equipment records.
  6. Click the Add or Add and Close button below the grid.

Option C - Import Equpment Timecards for Day and Prime

Equipment Timecards will be grouped and summed by Company and Code using Daily Log Date as the filter criteria.

  1. Optional: Use the Search field to filter the Company | Labor Code listing.
  2. Select one or more Company | Equipment Code records by clicking the checkbox on the left.
    • Quantity = 1
    • Hours and Total Hours = Total Equipment Timecard Hours
  3. Click the Add or Add and Close button below the grid.

Option D - Import Equipment Items from Cost Database

If Equipment Items have been added in the Estimating Module, then these items can be imported rather than entered manually.

  1. Optional: Use the Search field to filter the Equipment Items listing.
  2. Select the Equipment Item by clicking the checkbox on the left.
  3. Enter the Quantity.
  4. Enter the Average Run Time Hours per piece of equipment. (Total Run Time Hours = Quantity x Average Run Time Hours)
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for additional equipment items.
  6. Select the Company reference in the drop-down shown below the grid.
  7. Click the Add or Add and Close button below the grid.
