Clock In and Out Overview
Individual Employees and Field Crews can use the Clock In and Out feature to track their time on the project including rest and lunch breaks. This data is then converted to pending timecards and later approved by financial admins.
Important Things To Know
- Clock In and Out is turned off by default. See Time and Expense Feature Settings for more details.
- Clock In and Out functions are accessible by clicking the stop watch icon shown at the top center of the Sage Construction Management main menu or on the Mobile App's Home View.
- All Security Roles allow users to Clock In and Out if the feature is enabled.
- Clock In/out entries can be converted to pending timecards based on the following logic.
- Users can convert their own entries.
- Crew leaders can convert all their crew members' entries.
- Admins can convert anyone's entry.
- Clocking In requires only a Project and Prime Contract reference to streamline data entry. When these entries are converted to Pending Timecards, additional information such as Payroll Item and Job Cost Code will be required.
- Comments entered when clocking in or out are saved only if users have location tracking enabled in their browser.
Prerequisites
- Enable Clock In and Out feature in Settings | Feature Settings | Time and Expenses.
- Make sure the Project's Prime Contract is Approved and has a Status Date.
- Let users know that they must enable location tracking in their browser to save comments. Instructions vary by browser.
