Multi-tenant access for external users

External authorization allows users to log in once and seamlessly access multiple Sage Construction Management tenants without re-authenticating. Users are represented as external users in each target company and through Single Sign-On (SSO) they can switch between tenants easily. This feature simplifies access management and supports partner and consultant collaboration by removing the need for separate credentials per tenant.

Details

Partners and consultants are provisioned as external users, which sign in directly with their Sage Construction Management credentials. External users can be assigned one of the following roles, which control the user's permissions and visibility:

  • Administrator

  • Read Only

Access is carefully scoped and segmented to ensure strict isolation between partner organizations and prevent cross-partner visibility of data.

How it works

Enable external authorizations for a company

  1. Log in to Sage Construction Management as an Administrator.
  2. Go to Contact Management and open the Company Profile page.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Select the CPA/ Sage Partner login Authorized checkbox and save your changes.

    On the Company Profile page, the CPA/ Sage Partner login Authorized checkbox in the General Information section shows whether external authorizations are enabled for the company.

    If a company is configured to support externally authorized users, TeamLink users are not supported.

View and create externally authorized users

  1. Log in to Sage Construction Management as an Administrator.
  2. Go to Settings () > Company Settings > CPA/Sage Partner Logins.

    The externally authorized users summary displays in the External Authorizations section and the externally authorized users display in the CPA/Sage Partner Login section.

  3. To add an externally authorized user, in the CPA/Sage Partner Login section select Add and do the following:

    1. To add an existing contact as an externally authorized user:

      1. Select Add New External Authorized User from Existing Contacts.

      2. Select the External Company.

        The dropdown displays only companies that have the CPA/ Sage Partner login Authorized checkbox selected on the Company Profile page.

      3. Select the External User.

      4. Select the appropriate Role.

      Alternatively, you can use the options in the External Authorization Information section when editing the contact's profile.
    2. To add a new contact as an externally authorized user:

      1. Select Add New External Authorized User from New Contact.

      2. Select the External Company.

        The dropdown displays only companies that have the CPA/ Sage Partner login Authorized checkbox selected on the Company Profile page.

      3. Enter the First Name, Last Name, and Business Email.

      4. Select the appropriate Role.

    3. Select Add.

     

View externally authorized users for a company

  1. Log in to Sage Construction Management as an Administrator.
  2. Go to Contact Management and open the company profile page for a company that has the CPA/ Sage Partner login Authorized option selected.

  3. In the Contacts section, select the CPA/Sage Partner Login User checkbox to view only company contacts that are external users.

Log in as an externally authenticated user

  1. Log in to Sage Construction Management as usual using your externally authorized credentials.

    You can then access all tenants your account is authorized for without needing to sign in to each one separately.
