Users overview

Users in Sage Construction Management represent individuals who have access to your company’s data. Each user is assigned specific roles and permissions that determine what they can view or modify within Sage Construction Management. Managing users effectively ensures secure access and enables teams to work efficiently across departments and workflows.

Types of users

Type Internal employee or external project team member? Description Access
Standard User Internal employee

Can be only a company employee that's assigned one of the following standard security roles:

  • Administrator

  • Financial Administrator

  • Estimator

  • Project Manager

  • Estimating / Project Manager

  • Superintendent

You can optionally create custom security roles for standard users.

Time/Expense User Internal employee Can be only a company employee that's assigned a field user security role. The Time/Expense user cannot be modified and has special monthly pricing. It's applicable to individual license plans. Sage Construction Management

TeamLink User External project team member Can be assigned to an external project team member, such as an architect, customer, or vendor. TeamLink users are configured under each project. TeamLink users are free and unlimited. TeamLink Portal

About Sage Construction Management users

  • Administrators can add users, modify standard and TeamLink security roles, and set passwords.
  • Users are employees that have log in credentials set up by the administrator.
  • All users can change their password regardless of their role.
  • TeamLink Portal users are strictly people outside the organization, such as architects, customers, and vendors.
  • There are no restrictions on the number of TeamLink Portal users.

Sage Construction Management license plans and users

Sage Construction Management offers the following license plans:

  • Individual license plan:

    • Time & Expenses module: Unlimited number of active employees.

    • Standard users: Limited to the number of standard licenses purchased.

    • Time/Expense users: Limited to the number of Time/Expense licenses purchased.

  • Max employee plan (company-wide plan):

    • Time & Expenses module: The number of active employees allowed is equal to the purchased plan plus a 20% overage.

      For example, the Max 10 employee plan allows up to 12 active employees.

    • Standard users: Limited to the number of users in the purchased plan.

      For example, the Max 10 employee plan allows up to 10 users, assignable to any security role.

    • Time/Expense users: Not available.

  • Archive plan:

    • Includes 1 user with read-only access.

Example 1

  • Total number of employees: 10

  • Standard user licenses: 3

  • Time/Expense user licenses: 0

Result:

You can assign 3 out of 10 employees to the Standard Users section.

No employees can be assigned to the Time/Expense Users section.

Example 2:

  • Total number of employees: 10

  • Standard user Licenses: 3

  • Time/Expense user licenses: 4

Result:

You can assign 3 employees to the Standard Users list.

4 of the remaining employees can be assigned to the Time/Expense Users section.
