New option to check for duplicate invoice numbers
Duplicate invoice number validation has been enhanced to check bill and subcontract invoice numbers for duplicates within either the selected project or all active projects.
Details
Previously, when Check Duplicate Invoice Numbers on Bills and Sub Invoices was selected in Settings (
) > Feature Settings > Procurement Sage Construction Management checked only the project referenced on the transaction.
With this enhancement, the setting is now a dropdown with the following options:
-
Do not check for duplicates: Duplicate invoice numbers are allowed, except for bills with the same invoice number, vendor, and project. This is the default setting.
-
Check across Selected Project and Vendor: Bill and subcontract invoice numbers must be unique for each vendor within the selected project. The same invoice number can be used for a different vendor or project.
-
Check across All Projects and Vendor: Bill and subcontract invoice numbers must be unique for each vendor across all active projects. If the same invoice number already exists for the vendor on an active project, the transaction cannot be saved.
Key benefits
-
More flexible validation: Choose whether to disable duplicate checking or validate invoice numbers at the project or all-active-projects level.
-
Greater control: Apply the validation scope that best fits your organization’s invoicing requirements.
How it works
-
Select Settings (
) > Feature Settings > Procurement. -
In the General Settings section, select one of the following options from the Check Duplicate Invoice Numbers on Bills and Sub Invoices dropdown:
-
Do not check for duplicates
-
Check across Selected Project and Vendor
-
Check across All Projects and Vendor
-
-
Select Save.
When duplicate invoice checking is enabled, a duplicate entry message appears if the invoice number already exists within the configured validation scope.
