Leads overview

The Leads feature is a business development tool that estimating or sales staff can use to track design or construction opportunities. A lead is a job opportunity representing a structure to be built.

Unlike projects, where everything can be tracked, only the following features are available for leads:

  • Lead library: Drawings and specifications.
  • Lead team: Employee access and lead directory.
  • Preconstruction: Invitation to bid (ITB) and estimates.
  • Correspondence: Journals, RFIs, submittals, and transmittals.
  • Documentation: Photos.
  • QC and safety: Checklists and site hazard assessments.

About leads

  • The lead number can contain up to 25 alphanumeric characters. If the number changes, all related documentation will automatically reflect the updated value.
  • Lead bid due dates appear in the bid calendar.
  • The Last Stage Analysis - Trailing 90 Days pie chart on the Lead Home page includes only leads with either an owner bid due date or a lead stage estimated close date that falls within the past 90 days.
  • The estimated lead start and finish dates appear in the Active Lead Gantt chart.
  • Leads can be converted into projects using the Lead to Project Wizard, but only after they’ve been awarded.
