Safety incident overview
Construction is an inherently hazardous industry. Work is often performed in adverse weather conditions and involves hazardous materials, tools, and equipment. Additional risks include excessive noise, dust, excavation cave-ins, the risk of falling, and materials or equipment striking workers.
When incidents occur, most government agencies, such as OSHA in the United States, require employers to maintain detailed records of occupational injuries and illnesses. Special notification requirements might also apply in the event of a fatality or when multiple individuals require hospitalization.
The Safety Incident feature in Sage Construction Management is designed to support this type of tracking. It enables organizations to document accident causes, safety violations, personnel injuries, and damage to property or equipment in a centralized, compliant manner.
