Punchlist items overview
Typically, toward the end of a project, a walk-through or inspection is conducted with the general contractor, construction manager, architect, and/or owner to identify quality issues or non‑conforming work. In Sage Construction Management, these items can be documented and tracked using the Punchlist Items feature. Contractors closely monitor punchlist items, as contracts often require all issues to be fully resolved before a final invoice can be submitted or processed.
-
Punchlist items can be accessed through the mobile app, making it easier for project managers and superintendents to update the status of open items directly from the field.
-
Punchlist items must not be confused with checklist items used in Quality Control and Safety. Punchlist items are project‑specific and vary from one project to another, while checklist items are used to document your company’s internal processes. For this reason, checklists can be created as templates and reused across multiple projects.
-
Open punchlist items with a due date appear in the calendar and alerts. These items are also included in the email sent to the external team members.
- You can use the Choose Bulk Action option to update multiple items simultaneously as follows:
- Update the responsible company and contact.
- Update the inspection date.
- Update the location.
- Update the due date.
- Update the completion date.
- Delete the selected items.
-
Ensure that all companies that will be referenced as inspectors or responsible parties for work completion are listed in the project directory. For example, your firm, subcontractors, suppliers, architect, and owner.
