Invitation To Bid (ITB) Overview
The Invitation To Bid (ITB) feature is an email communication tool that can be used to announce an upcoming job opportunity to subcontractors and suppliers. You can link drawings and specifications to the ITB so that vendors can make an informed decision if they would like to participate.
The primary purpose of the ITB is to gauge vendor's interest in the job opportunity. An ITB should not be confused with Request For Pricing (RFP) Packages. In RFPs, the vendor will submit pricing on items.
The ITB email alert generated from Sage Construction Management includes a hyperlink that the vendor can use to log in to the TeamLink Portal. Within the portal, vendors can review the bid due date and time and linked drawings and specifications.
How vendors can respond to the ITB
After they receive the ITB, vendors can use the TeamLink Portal to ask private questions or add comments for the bid captain or coordinator.
The followning are the ITB status response options:
- No Response (Default status when firms are added to the ITB list.)
- Undecided - Waiting For Plans
- Undecided - Reviewing Plans
- Undecided - Need Assistance
- Not Bidding
- Bidding
Complete Before Preparing ITB
Complete these steps before starting on the ITB:
- Add Subcontractors and Suppliers to the Contact Management module. Be sure to add the Company and Contact along with an email address otherwise invitations cannot be sent out of Sage Construction Management.
- Create the Project Lead or Project.
- Optional: Upload Drawings
- Optional: Upload Specifications
